Supportive care is a type of treatment that is not aimed at curing colorectal cancer, but rather at improving quality of life in people with serious or life-threatening diseases.

The goal of supportive care is to relieve and comfort the patient as quickly as possible through the following steps:

  • Help treat the symptoms of the disease.
  • Prevent or treat side effects caused by treatment of the disease.
  • Help to ease psychological, social and spiritual problems related to the disease or its treatment.
